Fall 2025 and Fall 2026 Faculty Hiring Decisions
Dear College Community,
As you are aware, last semester the district announced a Supplemental Employee Retirement Plan (SERP) to our long-term employees as a gesture of appreciation. Eleven of our faculty members chose to participate in that plan, resulting in eleven future full-time faculty vacancies. As I announced during Convocation, our district is committed to replacing all faculty vacancies resulting from the SERP.
Requests for full-time faculty positions were submitted to the Academic Staffing Committee (ASC). The ASC is composed of faculty and serves as a subcommittee of the Academic Senate. Their role is to review requests for full-time faculty positions and, based on set criteria, make recommendations to me.
Based on the ASC recommendations, our projected district faculty vacancies, and budget projections, I am pleased to approve the following 14 full-time faculty positions.
For Fall 2025, the approved positions are:
- AEC - Vocational Special ED (categorical program funded)
- Aviation
- CalWORKs/Fresh Success Counselor (categorical program funded)
- Film & TV
- General Counselor
- Librarian
- Tutoring Center Faculty Coordinator
For Fall 2026, the approved positions are:
- Articulation Officer (Counseling)
- Adapted Physical Education (APE)/Kinesiology
- Business
- Biology
- Physics
- Studio Arts
- Theater
